
Here we will go through my setup of a Starlink Dishy V2 into my existing home network. Starlink will operate as my failover WAN connection in the event my primary goes down.

Guide:
- Connect Starlink and get setup/online
- Sign into the Starlink app and setup DNS to point to a non-starlink DNS
- Set Router to bypass, confirm and reboot
- Connect the Starlink ethernet adapter, power on router
- Configure OPT1/STARLINK interface
- DHCP ipv4/ipv6
- Reject leases from 192.168.100.1,192.168.1.1
- Uncheck Reserved Networks blocking “Block private networks and loopback addresses”
- Add new Gateway and Gateway Group (if one doesn’t exist) and add Starlink interface to it (System > Routing > Gateway Groups).
- Save and test changes with ping and failover event
Extra Stuff
DHCP6 setup:
- Interfaces > Starlink interface
- IPv6 Configuration Type = DHCP6
- Use IPv4 Connectivity as parent interface = Checked
- Do not wait for RA = Checked
- System > Advanced > Networking > Allow IPv6
